In a horrific moment on April 25 at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, President Trump and members of his Cabinet survived an assassination attempt when shots were fired. The President, First Lady, Vice President, and Cabinet officials are all safe and unharmed. The Secret Service quickly neutralized the threat and evacuated those present. The suspect was taken into custody.
Despite the attack, it was another strong week for America. The S&P 500 continued its upward momentum, President Trump hosted a major White House healthcare affordability event announcing new pharmaceutical pricing deals to lower costs for American families, the U.S. successfully maintained its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to pressure Iran, and America’s energy dominance was further advanced.
