Army Chief honours BSF constable for exceptional role in Operation Sindoor
New Delhi, May 17. In a significant recognition of gallantry and professionalism, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on has awarded the prestigious Commendation Disc to Constable Harvinder Singh of SP Company, 109 Battalion, Border Security Force (BSF).
The commendation was conferred for Constable Singh’s exemplary performance during Operation Sindoor, where he displayed outstanding skill, commitment, and swift operational execution. Singh played a pivotal role in the rapid deployment of 81 MM mortars across various strategic locations, demonstrating lightning-fast precision under pressure.
His accurate calculations of firing data ensured that defensive positions were combat-ready and capable of effectively engaging designated targets. The Army lauded his actions as a reflection of exceptional training standards and operational excellence within the BSF.
The recognition underscores the critical role of frontline personnel in bolstering India’s defence preparedness.
