Tri-Services Academia Technology Symposium to open in Delhi on Sept 22
New Delhi, September 20. The armed forces will host the first-ever Tri-Services Academia Technology Symposium (T-SATS) from September 22 to 23 at the Manekshaw Centre in the capital, with an aim to boost collaboration between the military and India’s academic institutions.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan will inaugurate the symposium on September 22 and open an exhibition showcasing shortlisted innovations drawn from 222 submissions received through the official portal.
Organised by the Indian Army under the aegis of Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, the symposium seeks to strengthen the services-academia research and development ecosystem and promote niche technologies critical to national defence. The theme of the maiden edition is ‘Vivek va Anusandhan se Vijay’ (Victory Through Wisdom and Innovation).
According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Defence, the two-day event will bring together directors and senior faculty members of over 200 leading universities, 50 R&D institutions, subject experts from the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as students from IITs and Tier II and III technical institutes. Discussions will focus on cutting-edge research and technological solutions tailored to the operational requirements of the armed forces.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi are scheduled to attend the symposium on September 23.
