UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to visit India on January 19
New Delhi, January 19. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will pay an official visit to India on January 19, 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs has said.
This will be Sheikh Mohamed’s third official visit to India since assuming office as President of the United Arab Emirates and his fifth visit to the country over the past ten years. The trip comes amid sustained high-level engagement between the two countries, following visits by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in September 2024 and Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in April 2025.
India and the UAE share close and wide-ranging ties anchored in strong political, cultural, and economic cooperation. The two nations rank among each other’s leading trading and investment partners, supported by mechanisms such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Local Currency Settlement system, and the Bilateral Investment Treaty. Their partnership also extends to the energy sector, with long-term supply arrangements forming a key pillar of cooperation.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed are expected to explore new areas of collaboration under the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The leaders will also exchange views on regional and global developments of shared interest, reflecting the growing convergence in their perspectives on key international issues.
