Rajnath credits RSS for inspiring Laghu Udyog Bharati’s selfless service

By R Anil Kumar

Bengaluru. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on November 6 credited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for inspiring the spirit of selfless service and national commitment that drives organisations like Laghu Udyog Bharati, saying that the Sangh’s century-long dedication to society continues to shape India’s industrial and social growth.

Addressing a flagship event IMD 2025 organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati Karnataka and the IMS Foundation, Singh said, “Laghu Udyog Bharati has derived its inspiration from the RSS in serving society and industry without self-interest. The Sangh has been dedicated to the service of the nation for almost a hundred years with complete devotion and the spirit of ‘Nation First’.”

Expressing pride in his long association with the Sangh Parivar, the Defence Minister said, “It is my good fortune that I have long been associated with the Sangh Parivar. I was associated earlier, I remain associated today, and I will remain connected as long as I live.”

He lauded the RSS for its role in building a culture of discipline, dedication, and service in Indian society. “The RSS has always believed in ‘Sarv Nishkaam Seva’—selfless service—and this has strengthened the spirit of nation-building across generations,” he added.

Singh congratulated Laghu Udyog Bharati and IMS Foundation for their consistent efforts to promote small industries in India and said that the organisation’s growth reflected the success of India’s MSME ecosystem. “Laghu Udyog Bharati is no longer ‘laghu’. It has been growing continuously, expanding, and flourishing, with around 700 branches across India. This shows how the small industries sector has become a pillar of our economy,” he noted.

He praised Laghu Udyog Bharati for its unwavering advocacy for small enterprises since its inception. “The organisation has consistently raised its voice for small industries and their rights, and that contribution is truly commendable,” he said.

Assuring full support from the Government of India, Singh said that the Centre would stand firmly behind small industries and entrepreneurs. “If you take one step forward towards making India a developed nation, the government will take ten steps forward to support you. This is the right time to move ahead,” he said, urging the industry to partner in building a Viksit Bharat.

Calling for collective action, Singh said the growth of small industries was central to India’s development vision. “I am confident that all of you are making an important contribution to strengthening the government’s efforts and will continue to do so in the future,” he added.

Concluding his remarks, Singh thanked the organisers for inviting him and extended his best wishes for the success of their future initiatives.
