INS Kadmatt arrives in Fiji to boost maritime ties
New Delhi, September 17. Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kadmatt, an indigenously designed and built anti-submarine warfare corvette, arrived in Suva on September 15 for a goodwill visit as part of its ongoing three-month deployment.
The port call reflects the longstanding cultural and historical ties between India and Fiji and reaffirms New Delhi’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and maritime cooperation with friendly nations.
During the visit, INS Kadmatt will host senior officials of the Republic of Fiji Navy to facilitate professional exchanges and explore opportunities for cooperation, according to a press release issued by the Defence Ministry. The crew will also take part in community outreach programmes, sporting activities and cultural events aimed at deepening people-to-people engagement.
The deployment is aligned with India’s MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Region) vision and highlights the Indian Navy’s role as a trusted partner in the Indian Ocean Region.
