Hical Technologies- A reliable and trusted name with global aerospace and defence OEMs

Bengaluru, June 30, 2026. Hical Technologies a Bengaluru-based aerospace and defence manufacturer specialising in high-precision electromechanical systems is a trusted supplier to leading global aerospace and defence OEMs.

Hical combines world-class engineering capability with a commitment to quality and reliability. The company plays a central role in India’s growing aerospace manufacturing ecosystem and supports India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

Hical Technologies, headquartered in Bengaluru, is making significant strides in the aerospace industry with a new long-term contract from Dassault Aviation.

The agreement involves manufacturing critical components for the Rafale fighter aircraft’s control systems, aligning with Dassault’s rigorous engineering and reliability standards.

This development positions India as an essential player in the global aerospace and defence value chain, as noted by senior executives from both companies.

The Company’s Key Developments & Contracts include:

Rafale Manufacturing: The major partnership with Dassault Aviation positions the company as a strategic contributor in the global defence value chain.

ISRO & Aerospace Milestones: Hical has supplied electromechanical actuators for recent missions, including the ISRO PSLV-C58 launch.

Domestic Defence Expansion: The company is successfully expanding in India, securing approvals for solenoids from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Tejas Mk2 program and the SARAS aircraft program .

Corporate Commute Initiatives: In a joint initiative with Tummoc, the company announced a corporate commuter solution to incentivize employees to utilize public transportation through gamification and digital wallets.

Industry Engagement: Hical Technologies continues to forge global partnerships, showcasing its electromagnetics and aerospace capabilities at events like the Paris Air Show.

In an interaction with India Strategic, Yashas Jaiveer, Managing Director and Spokesperson Hical Technologies, shared the company’s vision and its missions ahead.

India Strategic: What are Hical Technologies’ core capabilities, and what makes it differentin aerospace and defence manufacturing?

A: Hical has over four decades of manufacturing experience and nearly 20 years in aerospace and defence. Our core strength is electro mechanical manufacturing across both build-to-print and build-to-spec programmes. What matters in this sector is consistency, and that comes from strong process discipline, traceability, and quality at every stage. This requires sustained investments into quality system, workforce training, R&D and engineering capabilities to ensure reliability and long-term relationships with global customers.

India Strategic: What factors have enabled Hical to secure and sustain partnerships with leading global OEMs such as Dassault Aviation, Boeing, Safran, Honeywell and ISRO, and what does the supplier qualification journey typically involve?

A: Hical’s partnerships with global OEMs have been built on a consistent quality culture across the organisation. Quality is not treated as a separate function; it is part of day-to-day execution across teams, from leadership to the shop-floor Operators are empowered to stop production if they identify a deviation, and issues are addressed through structured cross-functional reviews. In aerospace, supplier qualification is rigorous and trust is built over time through audits, Requalification, and consistent delivery performance. Hical’s ability to maintain process discipline, strengthen engineering capability with customer requirements and deliver with low cost of poor quality has been central to sustaining these relationships. This is further reinforced through the implementation of robust APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) processes before the launch of any production program.

India Strategic: Aerospace and defence demand uncompromising quality standards. How does Hical ensure zero defects, and what systems or certifications help maintain this?

A: Hical’s quality systems are built on standards such as AS9100, ISO certifications, and NADCAP approvals. These provide the baseline. Beyond compliance, quality is reinforced through advanced product quality planning, FMEAs, and disciplined production-readiness reviews before work moves to scale. Operators are trained to understand the safety-critical use of the parts they make, which strengthens accountability on the shopfloor. Training is a core part of how Hical maintains quality. The company uses a structured, multi-level training system supported by in-house capability and external experts, including customer specialists and experienced aerospaceprofessionals. Through a training passport approach, employee training records and certifications are tracked, and no operator is assigned to a task without the required qualification. Skill progression is defined clearly, with safety-critical work handled only by trained personnel who meet the required level. Taken together, these systems, reviews, and training practices help Hical maintain process discipline and support a zero-defect mindset in aerospace manufacturing.

India Strategic: How does Hical work with customers in the early design stage, and how does this improve the final outcome?

A: Early-stage engagement requires a long-term view, engineering flexibility, and the ability to support extended development and qualification cycles. Hical works with customers on design optimisation, manufacturability, and engineering changes from the initial stages of a programme. The company can also take a flexible approach on commercial and IP matters where required. This allows Hical to participate in long-duration aerospace programmes and support customers from development through production.

India Strategic: How is India growing in the global aerospace and defence supply chain? What gaps still need to be fixed?

A: India’s role in the global aerospace and defence supply chain is expanding, but capability development still needs to deepen. One area that would help is stronger government-backed co-development, especially through design-led programmes that are jointly funded or supported over longer timelines. Collaboration between public sector design organisations and private industry are helping build domestic engineering capability and reduce dependence on imported solutions. India already has a base to build on through frameworks such as offset programmes, which have opened up opportunities for capability creation and wider ecosystem participation. The remaining gap is to move from participation in global programmes to stronger ownership of design, development, and qualification capability within India.

India Strategic: What is Hical’s long-term vision for growth in the global aerospace and defence space?

A: Hical’s long-term focus is to grow its aerospace and defence business by deepening its electromechanical, technological, and manufacturing capabilities. To this end, the company is expanding its talent base, increasing R&D spend, and scaling up manufacturing and design capacity in line with market demand. It is also pursuing acquisition opportunities over the medium term.
