  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day official visit to Russia. He will hold the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit with President Putin.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo-II International Airport, kicking off an important state visit to Russia. Later today, President Vladimir Putin will host a private dinner for Modi. 

  • The highlight of the visit is the 22nd annual India-Russia summit, scheduled for July 9, where both leaders will engage in discussions covering a range of bilateral and global issues

  • Following his engagements in Russia, Modi will proceed to Austria, marking the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in over four decades, since Indira Gandhi’s visit in 1983

  • The Kremlin has confirmed that President Putin will engage in face-to-face talks with Modi, with a preliminary informal meeting planned for Monday evening. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov highlighted that the leaders will have ample opportunity for extensive, agenda-free discussions

  • Ahead of the visit, Indian officials indicated that key priorities for Modi include addressing the trade imbalance between India and Russia, as well as efforts to secure the release of Indian nationals caught up in the Ukraine conflict, who were reportedly deceived into participating

PM Modi discusses ‘reform, perform, transform’ strategy with president Putin

“In the last 10 years, “I have worked on the three main principals, Reform, Perform, and Transform. The country has accepted these principals, and in my third term as Prime Minister, I have decided to work harder,” PM Modi said while talking to President Vladimir Putin.

Ostankino TV tower lights up in Indian-Russian flags for PM Modi’s Moscow visit

One of Moscow’s landmarks, the Ostankino TV tower, was lit up in the colours of the flags of India and Russia on Monday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi began a two-day high-profile visit to the Russian capital to hold summit talks with President Vladimir Putin.

Rising to 1,771 feet (540m), the Ostankino TV Tower is the world’s 4th tallest and Europe’s highest of its kind. The tower was erected in 1967 by the well-known Soviet engineer, Nikolai Nikitin.

As the highest free-standing building in Russia, it is a renowned symbol of Russian broadcasting, as well as a famous landmark and a must-visit destination in Moscow.

‘Resolution to Russia-Ukraine war can’t be found in battleground’: Indian Govt sources

With Russian collaboration, BrahMos is giving good results. Similarly, some more defence deals will be struck after which Russian arms will be manufactured in India. Cultural topic will be touched upon. Hindi films were very famous in Russia, across the Soviet Union in the past…In the past 2 years, Indian cinema – especially South Indian cinema – has been coming in Russia. People have started liking it. Talks will also be held on the Rupee-Rouble trade, economic topics will also be touched…Geopolitics topics will definitely be touched on…The entire world is watching this. I think the results can touch the situation of the entire world.”

PM Modi’s Austria visit to focus on high-level talks and community engagement: Envoy

India’s Ambassador to Austria, Shambhu S. Kumaran, on PM Modi’s upcoming visit, stated, “Prime Minister will engage in substantive discussions with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer. He will also meet President Alexander Van der Bellen and interact with Austrian CEOs and an Indian business delegation.”
