General Upendra Dwivedi inducted into US Army War College’s International Hall of Fame
New Delhi, April 28. Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi was inducted into the International Hall of Fame at the United States Army War College during his recent visit to the United States, underscoring the depth of India-US military engagement.
A distinguished fellow of the Pennsylvania-based institution, General Dwivedi becomes the third Indian Army chief to receive the honour after VK Singh and Bikram Singh.
At the War College in Carlisle Barracks, the Army chief interacted with faculty and international officers, speaking on leadership, professional military education and the changing character of global security challenges, the Indian Army said in a statement.
The visit formed part of continuing high-level military exchanges between the two countries. Earlier, General Dwivedi was received with a guard of honour at Fort Shafter in Hawaii, headquarters of the United States Army Pacific. He held talks there with Commanding General Ronald P Clark and other senior leaders on expanding defence cooperation and advancing a shared vision for stability in the Indo-Pacific.
His trip follows closely on the visits of air force chief Amar Preet Singh and navy chief Dinesh Tripathi to the US, reflecting sustained momentum in bilateral military-to-military ties.
