Our core strength is electro mechanical manufacturing across both build-to-print and build-to-spec programmes. What matters in this sector is consistency, and that comes from strong process discipline, traceability, and quality at every stage. This requires sustained investments into quality system, workforce training, R&D and engineering capabilities to ensure reliability and long-term relationships with global customers.
India Strategic: What factors have enabled Hical to secure and sustain partnerships with leading global OEMs such as Dassault Aviation, Boeing, Safran, Honeywell and ISRO, and what does the supplier qualification journey typically involve?
A: Hical’s partnerships with global OEMs have been built on a consistent quality culture across the organisation. Quality is not treated as a separate function; it is part of day-to-day execution across teams, from leadership to the shop-floor Operators are empowered to stop production if they identify a deviation, and issues are addressed through structured cross-functional reviews. In aerospace, supplier qualification is rigorous and trust is built over time through audits, Requalification, and consistent delivery performance. Hical’s ability to maintain process discipline, strengthen engineering capability with customer requirements and deliver with low cost of poor quality has been central to sustaining these relationships. This is further reinforced through the implementation of robust APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) processes before the launch of any production program.
India Strategic: Aerospace and defence demand uncompromising quality standards. How does Hical ensure zero defects, and what systems or certifications help maintain this?
A: Hical’s quality systems are built on standards such as AS9100, ISO certifications,and NADCAP approvals. These provide the baseline. Beyond compliance,quality is reinforced through advanced product quality planning, FMEAs, and disciplined production-readiness reviews before work moves to scale. Operators are trained to understand the safety-critical use of the parts they make, which strengthens accountability on the shopfloor. Training is a core part of how Hical maintains quality. The company uses a structured, multi-level training system supported by in-house capability and external experts, including customer specialists and experienced aerospaceprofessionals. Through a training passport approach, employee training records and certifications are tracked, and no operator is assigned to a task without the required qualification. Skill progression is defined clearly, with safety-critical work handled only by trained personnel who meet the required level.
