Veera Dynamics unveils stealth breakthrough with Project RAMA, partners with Binford for next-gen covert drones

Hyderabad, July 20. In a significant boost to India’s indigenous defence technology capabilities, Hyderabad-based Veera Dynamics, a futuristic combat technology development partner of the Indian Navy, has unveiled Project RAMA (Radar Absorption & Multispectral Adaptive) – a cutting-edge stealth material designed to drastically reduce radar and infrared visibility across land, sea, and air platforms.

Engineered as a modular, platform-agnostic coating, RAMA represents a next-generation leap in survivability and low-observability warfare. By minimising both radar cross-section and thermal signatures, RAMA effectively compresses an adversary’s detect-to-engage window to near zero – a crucial advantage in today’s sensor-rich, high-threat operational environments.

“RAMA represents our vision of platform-wide invisibility,” said Sai Teja Peddineni, CEO of Veera Dynamics. “It’s not just a material – it’s a strategic capability for future warfare.”

To bring RAMA to operational deployment, Veera Dynamics has partnered with Binford Research Labs, a defence company known for developing autonomous drones capable of navigating GPS- and RF-denied zones. Binford, a three-time winner of the IDEX awards from India’s Ministry of Defence, already supplies unmanned systems currently in active service with the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The integration of RAMA’s multispectral stealth technology with Binford’s advanced autonomy stack is set to revolutionise unmanned aerial operations. The combined system will enable drones to execute covert, high-risk missions with heightened survivability and precision – particularly in contested environments.

As part of the collaboration, the joint venture also aims to scale production of attritable, low-cost stealth drones, in line with India’s evolving requirement for mass-deployable unmanned systems capable of operating under heavy threat while preserving operational surprise.

The initiative marks a significant step toward India’s ambition of achieving self-reliance in high-end defence technologies while equipping its armed forces with next-generation capabilities to meet the demands of modern and future warfare.
