Jaishankar meets UAE President, discusses West Asia crisis and Indian community welfare
Abu Dhabi, April 13. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on April 12 to discuss the evolving crisis in West Asia and its broader economic implications.
Jaishankar, who was on a two-day visit to the UAE beginning April 11, conveyed the warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked the UAE leadership for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community during the regional conflict.
The minister also expressed appreciation for the UAE President’s guidance in further strengthening the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. It is understood that Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Deputy Prime Minister Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum was present during the meeting. In a separate post, Jaishankar acknowledged his interaction with Hamdan and reiterated India’s gratitude for the welfare measures extended to Indians in Dubai.
Earlier on April 11, Jaishankar held talks with his UAE counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with discussions focusing on the evolving regional situation and its implications.
He noted that India deeply appreciated the UAE’s efforts to safeguard the Indian diaspora and expressed confidence that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries would continue to advance.
