Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Reviews Working of Police Division

New Delhi. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on December 27 reviewed the working of Police Division.

The Home Minister was informed by the senior officers that the CRPF, for the first time, is raising an exclusive composite tribal battalion by recruiting male and female tribal youth from south Bastar region.

The recruitment process is going on and is likely to be completed by mid of January, 2017. The recruits will be joining during April, 2017 for their basic training. This is also a first recruitment process, where CRPF have implemented 33 per cent reservation at the constable level recruitment for females.

Mr Singh was also informed about the steps to promote the digitisation campaign on cashless transactions launched by Government of India and to make the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel i.e CRPF, BSF, SSB, ITBP, CISF, NSG and Assam Rifles aware about the benefits of usage of latest technology in cashless transaction.

On the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), CAPF personnel also attended Digi-Dhan Mela organised by NITI Aayog in New Delhi December 25. NDRF also organised a workshop on December 21 with an aim to train the personnel in process of mobile banking and conducting daily transactions through various mobile application such as UPI, e-wallets and internet banking.

Mr Singh also advised the Heads of CAPFs to organise workshops up to the battalion level in their forces so as to apprise all the force personnel and their families about benefits and different models of cashless transaction. Necessary instructions have been passed by the MHA to all CAPFs.
